Weβre excited to bring families, kids, vendors, nonprofits, and community partners together for a free day at Lockhart City Park.

Below are answers to common questions to help make your day smooth, safe, and fun.

Where is Kite Day happening?
Kite Day will be held at:
Lockhart City Park
504 E City Park Rd
Lockhart, TX 78644
Please check the event map for parking areas, vendor row, activities, restrooms, hydration stations, and family picnic areas.
β° What time is the event?
Sunday, July 26
10:00 AM β 4:00 PM
Some setup and vendor activity may be happening earlier, but family activities officially begin at 10:00 AM.
Is the event free?
Yes! Kite Day is a free community event hosted by Lions Legacy Community Development.
Families are welcome to come out, enjoy the park, fly kites, visit vendors, grab food, and spend the day together.
π§ Arrival, Check-In & Map
Where should families go first?
When you arrive, please look for the: LLCD Welcome Tent π
This will be near the main entrance area and close to the Lions Legacy food/concession area.
Volunteers can help you:
Find the kite/shirt pickup area
Understand the event map
Locate activities
Find restrooms
Find food and vendors
Get pointed toward the family picnic areas
Where do we pick up kites and shirts?
Kite and shirt pickup will be located near the hydration station and main event area.
Free shirts and kites are available while supplies last.
Please be patient with volunteers during the opening rush. We are expecting a strong turnout and will do our best to keep things moving.

Will free shirts be available?
Yes, thanks to our sponsors, we will have free event shirts available.
Shirts are not guaranteed and will be available while supplies last. Early registrants will receive priority.
Will kites be available?
Yes! We will have kites available for kids and families while supplies last. Feel free to bring your own.
Families are also welcome to bring their own kites.
Can someone help my child with their kite?
Yes. We plan to have volunteers helping in the kite area.
Kites can get tangled, strings can break, and some kids may need help getting their kite in the air. Our kite helper crew will do their best to support families throughout the day.
π What to Expect
Is this a festival or carnival?
Think of it as a laid-back community picnic with kites, food, music, vendors, and family activities.
It is not meant to be overly formal. Bring your family, bring your chairs or blankets, and enjoy the day.

Activities may shift slightly depending on weather, safety, setup, and vendor needs.
Will there be music?
Yes. Lions Legacy will have a family-friendly radio station playing over the sound system throughout the event. πΆ
Weβll also use the sound system for basic announcements and event updates.
π Food & Vendors
Will there be food?
Yes! There will be food vendors, drink vendors, sweet treats, and the Lions Legacy food fundraiser with grilled items.
Food and drinks may include items from local vendors, youth entrepreneurs, and community partners.
Can we bring our own food?
Yes. Families are welcome to bring food, drinks, chairs, blankets, and tents.
Please help us keep the park clean.
No alcohol or personal BBQ pits, please.
Where will vendors be located?
Most vendors and nonprofits will be set up along Vendor Row, near the main activity area.
Please check the map when you arrive.
π§ Heat, Water & Safety
Will water be available?
Yes. We will have a hydration station near the main event area.
Please bring your own water bottles if you can, especially with July heat.
Will there be shade?
There will be some shaded areas, but families are encouraged to bring:
Tents
Chairs
Blankets
Sunscreen
Hats
Extra water
This is a summer outdoor event, so please plan accordingly.
What should parents know?
Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children.
Volunteers will help with activities, directions, and safety reminders, but they are not a replacement for parent supervision.
Please help us keep the event safe, respectful, and family-friendly.

Where should we park?
Parking will be available in marked areas around Lockhart City Park.
Please follow the map, signs, and any volunteer directions.
Some areas may be reserved for vendors, emergency vehicles, or event setup.
Will the streets or parking areas be crowded?
Most likely, yes.
Please be patient, drive slowly, watch for kids and families, and follow traffic flow signs.
